Heemkunde Vlaanderen and the IMMIBEL-team are organising a course for amateur historians on the use of immigration files as a source for local history. The course will be given in Dutch
on 22 and 29 November and on 6 and 13 December in the State Archives in Leuven and in the city Archive of Leuven. Participants will learn more about foreigner’s files in general, where they are preserved, how they can be accessed and what information they provide. They will learn how to work with the foreigners registers kept at the Leuven City Archive and will be motivated to link the individual files with local migration history. More information can be found here.
